MC-29, a virus of the avian letikosis group, has been found to cause ocular hemorrhage in 42 per cent of infected chicks. Twelve-day-old white Leghorn chick embryos were injected intravenously. Tumors in the eye were localized to the anterior uvea and presented in association with hyphema and enlargement of the eye. Some appeared to be metastatic from abdominal tumors, whereas others appeared to be primary endotheliomas.

Key Words: chick embryos • avian leukosis virus • endothelioma • light microscopy • hyphemia • buphthalmos • metastatic tumors
