Macaque Lens Absorption in Vivo

DIRK V. NORREN 1

1 Institute for Perception TNO, Kampweg 5, Soesterberg, The Netherlands

The spectral density of the macaque lens was calculated from the difference between spectral sensitivity curves measured (with an electroretinographic technique) before and after lens extraction. The values found correspond with Boettner's data on excised lenses.

Key Words: lens • aphakic eye • rod sensitivity • cone sensitivity • retinography • macaque lens • eye media • preretinal absorption • lens absorption
