Microangiography of the Rabbit Eye: A Radiographic Study

DAVID K. DUEKER 1, E. LEON KIER 1, and STEPHEN L. G. ROTHMAN 1

1 Department of Ophthalmology and the Section of Neuroradiology, Department of Diagnostic Radiology of the Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Conn.

The circulation in the rabbit eye is studied using radiographic techniques. A detailed in vitro demonstration of the ocular circulation using soft x-rays is presented. The contribution of individual vessels is delineated by selective injection. In addition, a preliminary in vivo study of the anterior ciliary circulation is included; and the potential for in vivo radiographic study of ocular circulation is discussed.
