Positive antinuclear antibody (ANA) reactions were found in 44 per cent of patients with openangle glaucoma. The age or sex of the patients did not affect the results. This was highly significant when compared to the 7.5 per cent positive reactions in the control population. Patients with a high response to topical corticosteroids hail a 7 per cent positive reaction rate which was not significantly different from the control subjects. This is another piece of information indicating a possible disturbance of immunologic function in glaucoma patients.
